Description
This bottle of KPV capsules holds 60 capsules with 500mcg of KPV in each one. KPV is an alpha-MSH derived tripeptide. There’s nothing to mix, and like everything we sell it’s for laboratory research only.
KPV at a glance
KPV is the tripeptide lysine-proline-valine, the C-terminal end of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone. It keeps alpha-MSH’s anti-inflammatory activity without the pigment effects.
It’s small enough to be taken up by gut cells through the PepT1 transporter, which is why it’s studied in models of gut inflammation.
KPV mechanism of action
Alpha-MSH calms inflammation through melanocortin receptors. KPV is its last three amino acids and keeps much of that anti-inflammatory activity.
Inside cells it lowers NF-kappaB signaling, the switch for many inflammatory genes. Gut cells take it up through the PepT1 transporter, which is why colitis models are where most of the work is.

What the research says about KPV
Dalmasso and colleagues reported in Gastroenterology (2008) that KPV reduced inflammation in mouse colitis models and was taken up through PepT1.
Laroui and colleagues later packaged KPV in nanoparticles and saw similar effects in mice.

Why choose KPV capsules
Each bottle has 60 capsules at 500mcg, which is 30mg of KPV in total. Capsules make sense for oral-route studies and for anyone who’d rather skip reconstitution, cold storage and syringes.
Keep the bottle closed, somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight. No fridge needed.
KPV capsules or KPV vials?
We sell KPV as a powder vial too, for example KPV 10mg. These capsules actually work out cheaper per milligram, about $5.33 against $6.00 for the vial, and they skip the bacteriostatic water, syringes and fridge.
The other difference is the route. A vial is for injectable-route work, while capsules are for oral-route studies, and the published data for the two routes aren’t interchangeable.
KPV purity and lab testing
