Description
Our Epithalon 10mg vial holds 10mg of lyophilized Epithalon, a synthetic tetrapeptide. It’s for in-vitro and lab research only.
About Epithalon
Epitalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic tetrapeptide based on epithalamin, a pineal gland extract. Vladimir Khavinson’s group developed it.
It’s studied in aging research.
Epithalon mechanism of action
Epitalon is modeled on epithalamin, a peptide extract of the pineal gland. The pineal gland produces melatonin, and the original work looked at how it changed with age.
In cell culture, Khavinson’s group reported that epitalon switched on telomerase, the enzyme that rebuilds the protective caps on chromosome ends. Its other reported effects include normalizing melatonin rhythms in older animals.

Published Epithalon studies
Khavinson and colleagues reported that epitalon activated telomerase and lengthened telomeres in human fibroblast cultures (2003).
Rodent studies from the same group reported longer lifespans and fewer tumors.

Lab testing for Epithalon 10mg
The product photos for Epithalon 10mg include:
- A certificate of analysis with identity, measured quantity and HPLC purity.
- An endotoxin report from a kinetic LAL assay.
Click any image to zoom in on the numbers. Some of these reports were run on a different vial size of Epithalon from the same production. The purity figure carries over; the quantity line refers to the vial that was tested.
Epithalon 10mg reconstitution and concentration
Concentration is just the amount in the vial divided by the water you add. With 10mg in this vial:
- 1ml of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/ml
- 2ml of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/ml
- 3ml of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/ml
Choose the volume that suits your measurements. Mark the vial with the concentration and date so nobody has to guess later.
Most labs use bacteriostatic water. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the water slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll it gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking can shear peptide chains.
Storage and shelf life
Store sealed vials in the fridge (2 to 8°C) or freezer (-20°C), away from light. Mixed solution goes back in the fridge and should be used within about 28 days.
Choosing an Epithalon size
- Epithalon 5mg: 5mg for $25.00, about $5.00 per mg
- Epithalon 10mg (this page): 10mg for $48.90, about $4.89 per mg
- Epithalon 50mg: 50mg for $130.00, about $2.60 per mg
Epithalon 10mg sits in the middle of the range: more material than the small vial without the upfront cost of the largest.
