What is GLP-2 TZ (tirzepatide)?

Tirzepatide is a 39-amino-acid peptide from Eli Lilly that activates two receptors, GIP and GLP-1. A fatty acid side chain lets it bind albumin, so its half-life is about five days. It’s approved as Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes and as Zepbound for weight management.

Reconstituting GLP-2 TZ 20mg

The volume of water you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 20mg:

• 1ml of bacteriostatic water gives 20mg/ml
• 2ml of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/ml
• 3ml of bacteriostatic water gives 6.67mg/ml

Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it.

Use sterile bacteriostatic water. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature first so no condensation gets in, add the water slowly along the glass wall, and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake.

Storage and shelf life

Unopened, keep GLP-2 TZ 20mg in a fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in a freezer at -20°C if it’ll be a while before you use it. Keep it out of direct light. Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within about 28 days, which is how long bacteriostatic water stays good after opening.
