What is Cagrilintide?
Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analog from Novo Nordisk, given weekly. Amylin is a hormone released with insulin that slows stomach emptying and reduces appetite.
It’s being developed with semaglutide as CagriSema.
Cagrilintide mechanism of action
Amylin is released by the pancreas together with insulin. It slows stomach emptying, damps glucagon after meals and signals fullness through the brainstem.
Natural amylin clumps and clears fast. Cagrilintide is changed to stay soluble and carries a fatty acid for albumin binding, which gives it a long half-life. It’s often studied next to GLP-1 compounds because the two act through different pathways.

Cagrilintide 5mg reconstitution and concentration
The volume of water you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 5mg:
